MISSION STATEMENTS FROM CLASS

11:00 AM CLASS:

A tenth-grader named Billy wants a career in the MLB. How will he get there? What is his plan for the next five years? He is a born-again Christian and wants his life to reflect Christ. Our class decided that Billy should finish high school and go to college. Here is his personal mission statement for the next five years.

"To utilize the steps toward developing a career in
professional baseball as a platform for leading friends, fans, and fellow
teammates to a relationship with Christ."

A great vision verse for Billy might be Philippians 3:14, "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

1:00 PM CLASS

The three amigas in the afternoon class created Chauniquah, an 11th grader who survived a car crash when she was in the third grade. With severe damage to her mouth, Chauniquah never forgot the kindness of the dental team that fixed her smile. She wants to study dentistry. Here is her personal mission statement for the next five years.

"To study hard but stay balanced with volunteer work, maintaining
healthy relationships while I pursue my goal of getting into a good dental
school."

We chose a verse from the story of the Good Samaritan for Chauniquah's vision verse: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself'" (Luke 10:27). Because Chauniquah was treated so kindly after her accident, she wants to give her life in helping others. The amigas get kudos for their creativity! I feel a special bond with Chauniquah, although we will never meet. . .
