What is a Run-On Sentence?

A run-on sentence joins two or more complete sentences with no punctuation.

Example:

The Aaron Academy Royals crushed White House Christian Academy in the football game on Saturday afternoon it was a good game.

In the sentence above, there are actually two complete sentences that simply run together with no punctuation. The Aaron Academy Royals crushed White House Christian Academy in the football game on Saturday afternoon is one sentence. It was a good game is another sentence. These two sentences can be joined together with the use of a comma plus a conjunction.

The Aaron Academy Royals crushed White House Christian Academy in the football game on Saturday afternoon, and it was a good game.
