I have heard from a lot of you guys this week. And I've heard everything. I am trying to find the balance in being a tutor/teacher/mentor/writing coach to you people, but the mother in me wants to start grounding and taking away your phones and driving privileges!
You have two book reviews due tomorrow. They are to be 500 words each (at least). Last week I gave you a handout that clearly told you everything you need to know about writing these reviews!
Students, you have known about these reviews since the very first day of class. You knew you had two books to read. I think you also knew that there was no magic book-review-writing fairy who was going to come along and do these reviews for you. Right? You did know that, didn't you?
You were given a syllabus on the first day of class so that you (and your parents) could know what was going on each week in class. The purpose of the syllabus is to help us all in managing the time we have each week and in being able to accomplish the task of learning to write well.
Two words come to mind: respect and responsibility.
I welcome your comments.
