CONNECTED

Hello Students,

For those of you who were in the morning class this past Tuesday, I think you will agree that something special and really beyond any of us took place. From Nathan voicing an opening prayer (something that we should have been doing all year) to Jen reading the Word, to all of you sharing your hearts so openly through your devotionals, we just experienced something that, to me, was unforgettable. Mark, there was not a dry eye in the room when you read your devotional. You gave us all a new definition of courage.

In the afternoon class, I was privileged to hear from the three amigas as they shared from their hearts concerning self-image, God's provision, and fear. In both classes, I was reminded of what Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12:

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

The devotional was definitely the most personal thing that you have done this year. It's when you take that risk--when you let down your guard, when you dare to reveal your heart --that you are really going to make connections with your writing. We are all connected in a new way after learning more about each other last Tuesday. This kind of writing is not easy! It's not easy to just lay your heart out in front of people. However, if it impacts even one person, if it points someone to Jesus, then you have to know that it is worth it.

I know for sure that you all have impacted me.
