Excuses are the nails that build a house of failure.Okay, let's talk about your research papers. For those of you who did not do as well as you had hoped, well, I was disappointed, too. I think that the hardest part of teaching the writing class this year has been to see students who are full of potential but who lack the motivation to do their best.
There are going to be lots of times in your lives when you do not "feel" like doing something, whether it is getting up in the morning to go to work, cleaning up your kid's vomit, paying your taxes, or being nice to your in-laws.
You do it anyway.
If you consider that everything in your life is there because God has allowed it to be there, and every occurrence because He allowed it to happen, then you must further consider that it is all part of His plan for your life. Therefore, since He has your best interest at heart, you should do your best for Him.
Right now, your primary job is to be a student.
So study.
Work hard.
Do your best.
Go the extra mile in your classes.
You're here because this is His plan for you. Sometimes you have to motivate yourself. You have to give yourself a pep talk. You have to determine that you are going to do your best. You are the only one who can. And when all is said and done, you are the only one who will live with the consequences.

I think it's all about being grateful that we have the opportunity to learn. There are many children in the world who would LOVE to have the kinds of educational opportunities available to us in America. (Especially to us homeschoolers!) When I think about that, it makes me want to do my very best and take full advantage of my education. I hope this helps some of ya'll!
Love, Brooke L.
