March 9 -- This Week's Journal Entries

Students,

This week we will be doing a kind of retrospective of the journey you've made in writing your research paper.

(1) In your first entry, list the top ten things you would tell *next year's students* about writing the research paper. Each item on your list must be written in a complete sentence. Please title this: MY TOP TEN RULES FOR SURVIVING THE RESEARCH PAPER. There is no particular word count here, just have ten rules.

(2) Second entry: Writing this career paper has been a long road. It has challenged you to gather and organize information, manage your time, and stretch your comfort zone.
  • What has been the best part of writing this paper?
  • What has been the worst part?
  • What part of writing it has taught you the most as an individual?
This entry must be 100 words or longer. Word 100 must be circled.

Wow what happened to the good old 70 word entries. Oh well. So now basically both of my 2nd semester big projects are due next Tuesday and they’re both my whole grade so if I seem a bit stressed, that’s why. But whatever. Good luck everybody.

Class was fun. With the outline finished, well actually I have to revise it but you get the point, the paper doesn't look so scary. First draft, you're going down. See you guys next week.

Oh, and by the way, Mrs. Powell, I think in the second journal entry, it should be "has it" instead of "it has." Or maybe it's supposed to be that way and my mind is going nuts on me...
