Wow, it seems that I have really confused you people with this devotional. After Logan's pointing out the fact that the handout (which I slaved over, btw) was misleading (despite my slaving over it, btw), I will try again by using an example. Kay lo sent me her devo and I am putting it here in part, but not in its entirety, as she is not quite finished with it. My comments will be in ALL CAPS.
Here we go. This post assumes that you have already put the actual, complete Scripture passage you chose on your paper, in its entirety, RIGHT HERE--FIRST THING. Then, proceed.
BEGINNING HERE WITH PERSONAL STORY
I used to be terrified of storms. Storms gave me a feeling of helplessness because I knew things were out of my control. Once, I was riding with a friend and her mother when a terrible hailstorm occurred. My friend and I were instantly stricken with fear and panic. Then, my friend’s mother said, “Girls, where is your faith?” Still shaking with anxiety, I knew that faith was one thing I did not have at the moment. Suddenly, I started hearing the music of a familiar song. My friend’s mom had put in a CD of the song “Peace Be Still.”
“When there are storms in your soul,
He is still in control.
He can say ‘Peace, be still’
to your soul.”
Although I had heard those lyrics many times, that was the first time I really listened to them. As I began to sing along, I took the words to heart. I started feeling God bring peace to my soul. [THIS IS HER SEGWAY--SHE IS TAKING HER STORY NOW AND BEGINNING TO BRIDGE IT WITH THE SCRIPTURE PASSAGE] And as my faith grew, my fear diminished. After only a brief matter of time, I realized how foolish I was for having so little faith.
Often, we doubt the Lord and, we are no different than the disciples on the ship with Jesus. Sometimes our lack of faith can cause us to wonder if Jesus has forgotten about us as well. [SEE HOW SHE IS GIVING A LIFE APPLICATION TO THIS PASSAGE? NOW SHE IS GOING TO BRING IN AN ACTUAL VERSE FROM THE SCRIPTURE PASSAGE.] This is when we need to be reminded of Jesus’ words, “Why are you so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (v. 40). Troubling times will come to everyone, but that doesn’t mean God has forgotten about you.. .
Okay, as I said, this is not a complete devotional. I am not including her conclusion or prayer. Please let me know if this makes more sense to you all now.

Okay, just to be clear:
Personal Story
Segway
Scripture
Conclusion/Personal Prayer
Right?
Lauren,
I do not think you are understanding. The Scripture, in its entirety, is to be printed FIRST. Then comes your devo.
The devo begins wth the personal story, segway, and a Scripture reference--in other words, pull out a verse to use to make your point. Then the conclusion Then the personal prayer (those are two separate things).
Talk to Logan at church tomorrow. :)

Oh! I've got it now. I guess all I saw was the phrase "BEGINNING HERE WITH THE PERSONAL STORY" However, I've definitely got it now. Thank you Mrs.Powell!
Okay, so I just have to say... the games were AWWWWWWESOOOOOOOOOOME last Friday! I was just totally disappointed that the bestest teacher in the whole widest world wasn't there.
Lauren,
okay--but let me know if you have any questions!
Kay lo,
I know it was a lot of fun! I hated to miss, but Derek had a baseball game, which I also would have hated to miss!

This has been the most confusing week on the blog, ever. But I think I got everything. :)
No Fro Jo
Whats up?
I finally got everything, too. My devo is beautiful! What's our next homework assignment, Mrs P?
LoVizzle,
Good for you!
You will find out tomorrow...
Mrs. P
I would like tell everyone how much i hate rain. It is the worst thing in the world. And i don't undersatnd why baseball season is in the middle of the rainy season. WHY?
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! What in the world am I going to do! I'm like... freaking out! Now if I actually had a story, things wouldn't be so bad. I really don't mind the style paper. I think it'll be fun. But I don't have the slightest idea about what to right about! I guess my life's just always boring as I predict it always will be. sigh....
Going to pray about it.... again.
Oh, and if anyone would be kind enough to tell me what you're writing about, it would be much appreciated. I think I triggered a story for VG yesterday. Maybe someone else's story will remind me of something. But, if you must save it for a surprise, that's fine too. Just dying to remember a story that I can use!
