Relax. Relate. Release.

Dear Students,

Looking at Blair's comment (two posts down), I am wondering if several of you are feeling kind of apprehensive about this paper. A research paper can be a bit daunting, and that is why I have tried to map it out so that you are doing it step by step. You do not have to contact anyone yet. You do not have to do your interviews cold. I will be more than happy to help you with your questions and finding your contacts. This Tuesday, you are turning in a book list, writing TWO journal entries, and leaving a comment here at Blogsville. And the wheels in your head are turning as you continue to investigate your potential career.

I really hope that you are using this paper and our class to search your heart. What do you really want to be? Whatever it is, it is possible! And if you have a dream in your heart, you should follow it. I believe that God places the dreams there. "Delight in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart." Sometimes, those desires are quite evident, and sometimes, we have to grow into them. I don't know what God has planned for you, but you can be quite sure that He does have a plan and that He wants you to cooperate with Him.

This week's class is going to be extra, super, incredibly FUN!!!! And you will be in assigned seats. You see, in order for it to be extra, super, incredibly FUN for me, I need you to be quiet while I am talking. :) Capeesh?

I can't wait to see everyone!

Hey girls,

Rachael, I'm going to put a book in my bag for you right now, so ask me for it Tuesday.

Meghan, the results of the poll were actually a tie! We will be talking more about that on Tuesday!

Mrs. Powell,
The lady didn't email back, not even her "people"! So, right now, I'm stuck. I was hoping that if she had agreed to let me interview her that she might have been able to give me more sources to interview or books to read... I am trying to think if I know anyone else... besides Channel 4 News... =] Please let me know if you think of anyone else...

Jen,

Don't worry--we will find you some people.

How did you do this week on books?

Wow this is hard. I am having super big trouble finding books!

Nathan.

Nathan,

You need to be looking for biographies, where the businessman/woman tells the story of how they made their money.

Did you look at amazon under business? or even try "making money."

Keep thinking. I will think, too!

I'm having some trouble with books too. I found a couple, but one's about the best sports writing of 2007. So, should I look for autobiographies too?

Jen,

Yes! Look for some autobiographies. And, there's someone I want you to contact. We'll talk about it tomorrow.
