Hi Mrs.Powell!
I finally figured out this blog! YEAH! The blog search in the upper left hand corner was particularly helpful (hint to anyone who's just starting their quiz and has no idea what they're doing). Anyways, I think your blog is really cool. (In a school sort of way).

Hi Mrs. Powell,
I was telling the truth when I said that I'm a terrible writer, but I am so excited about taking the class. I feel a lot more comfotable with you being the teacher. I'm not quite sure if I'll post this correctly. This will have to be an experimental... (I've already tried it once..haha)
I hope you have a great week!
~Kayleigh
oops! sorry.... I didn't notice the top where it said that my comment has been saved and will be visible after blog owner approval. Leave it to me.....
~Kayleigh
Holly,
Glad to have you on board! I love that you have visited the blog!
Lauren,
Thanks for the compliment! I think all my students are cool (in a student sort of way!). :)
Kayleigh,
I had to do "blog owner approval" on the comments because of one particular student last year who left a comment about a certain pro team that is the rival of the certain team to whom I pledge my fan-allegiance. :)
Mrs. P
Hey Mrs. Powell I'm a bit confused on this sentence worksheet. It says to find 5 sentences from 5 different sources. So does this mean 5 sentences from each of the sources, or 1 sentence from 5 different sources? I assumed since there was a page and a half of blank paper it was the former but I wasn't sure. btw, is posting questions on the blog ok or should I send it to your email from now on?
Hey Tyler,
How about if I say it this way: five sentences, each from a different source.
You will wind up with five sentences total.
Leave questions on the blog or via email. It's up to you. I'm glad you asked this one on the ol' blog in case anyone else was confused!
Mrs. P
Wat up bloggers?! Just checking out the snazzy blog! Can't wait til Tuesday, Mrs. Powell!!!
Logan Vaughan
Snazzy!
I love that word! Thanks, Logan!
Mrs. P
Mrs. P, I have a few Q's on the quiz.
On Q number 2, I cannot find anything on a Will Shetterly. The search says there is no info available.
On Q number 10, I found the post saying when Summey will speak, but nothing saying what term he used.
On Q number 12, I cannot find what you "kissed goodbye and for how long?". I do have my suspicions that it might be dating, but I don't wanna get it wrong. I've gotten everything else answered, its just those 3. Can you help me out here?
I love that you spaced the "Y" on you in the question "What day are y ou taking the blog quiz?" That made me laugh.:) Love the blog:) Later Mrs. Rebe.. i mean Powell!
Randi Eli*
Logan,
Keep looking! Will Shetterly is here! Sometimes it is the most obvious things that we fail to see! (See my comment below to Randi!)
Q10 is not in the same post. It is in a different one! Keep looking! (That seems to be my theme today!)
And Q12 is there, too!
Hello, I meant for this to be difficult! Mwhahah!
Randi,
You just earned yourself five points! I didn't mean to put a space there! I'm going to go edit now!
Mrs. P
Well, I cannot edit the poll because the poll is already in progress. Like the psalmist said, my sins are ever before me (at least for this week until the poll closes!). Since Randi saw that error first, she gets the points!
Mrs. P
I found all the answers I was searching for due to Mrs. P's profound and unfathomable seat-of-the-pants intellective capacity. Thanks, Mrs. P.
i was wondering if any one else was having trouble figuring out what word to use for themself? haha! im having ALOT!
Wow Mrs. Powell. I was bound and determined that two answers to those questions WERE NOT ON HERE. I spent two hours on here yesterday and could NOT seem to find them. But I finally did this morning....sweet sigh of relief. Now on to starting my draft today......wish me luck!
~Kayleigh
ps. Tell Coach Rich I said hi! I haven't seen him in a while.
Mrs. Powell,
i have a copy of the book "i kissed dating goodbye". mom ordered 2 by mistake. she bought it off ebay, so if any1 does not have the book yet they can get it from me for $5. thats all we paid for it:) alrighty then! later Mrs. Powell:)

Actually, I figured out what word I was gonna use while I was in class Tuesday. I'm still shaping the paper in my head, but it's about to be on paper.
It's on paper! I finished my draft, and now I got to edit it. Before I do that, I have a Q, Mrs. P. Does the 500-550 word restriction include the title and name and stuff? I hit 547 on the word count, so I'm curious.
Logan,
Do not count the title, your name, or anything on the cover sheet in your word count.
547?
Great! I can't wait to read it!
Happy editing!
Mrs. P
I have one quick question. I was just wanting to clarify that the draft has to consist of more than 500 words and less than 550. Correct?
Oh and one more quick question. Can there be more than one page? I'm already on my second page and still haven't reached 500 words yet.
~Kayleigh
Kayleigh,
Your draft is your "almost paper." It is almost your final paper, but you are going to revise and edit it. It should fall within the word count. That said, if you just can't make it 500 words, or if you have 590 words and you just can't cut it down, remember that is what our critiques are for! Your classmates will help with that final editing process, and so will I.
And 500 words, double-spaced, should be more than one page!
Mrs. P
Thanks Mrs. Powell! I'm just a little short on words and feeling repetitious. Most of the time it's the other way, and I come out with a never ending paper. Oh well. I'll just have to take some pointers on Tuesday. Thanks again!
~Kayleigh
Hey Mrs. Powell. I know I'm asking you a slew of questions, but I still have another one. On the assignment with the sentences, you asked us to put down 5, each from a different source. Well I have a few quotes from different people, yet I found them in the same book. Is that okay? Just wanted to make sure of everything. thanks!
~Kayleigh
Hi Kayleigh,
I meant you needed five different book sources! You may use magazines or the newspaper, as well.
Mrs. P
Are we going to read our papers and sentences out loud to the class Tuesday? Or will you just read them by yourself? Or will we do critiqing work?
Logan
Logan,
I'll answer your questions in a new post!
Mrs. P
Mrs.Powell,
I'm honestly looking forward to our class this year, and really do enjoy to write. I wasn't lying when I said I'm not the best, but I guess that is why I took your class. This blog is awesome!!!

Concerning the Sentence Worksheet:
Is it okay for all my sentences to be from fiction books or do some have to be from non-fiction sources? Just checking. :)
-Lauren W.
Lauren,
It's okay if they are all from non-fiction, as long as you have five different sources.
Mrs. P
