J PROJECT

Hello Students,

I know that you have been wondering about what has happened with our J Project. I received this email from Mary.

we cannot get administrative approval to do any kind of exchange at all. that is it. it is a closed subject. something about confidentiality and possibly misunderstandings on the spiritual front with your kids being strong believers and parents here already concerned that the school is trying to convert their children.
so........... i will certainly do whatever you like with these essays, but we cannot participate. i am so sorry about all the upheaval here, all the changes, nothing ever stays the same. the kids would have liked to do this; they told me. i'm sorry......i know you understand, but i'm still sorry.....
the essays are great... :) please tell the kids.

When I got this email from Mary, I immediately thought of Galatians 5:1, which says, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." I thought of the irony of the fact that Christianity is taboo for these kids who want it, these students who are interested and want to learn more about a real relationship with Jesus Christ. Yet in our country where churches abound and where, for the time being, at least, the Truth is preached freely and without threat of arrest, many people walk in defiance and reject the Truth. Whether people are enslaved by a false religion or enslaved by their rejection of Christ, they are captives.

There's your Sunday sermon for today, in case you missed church. :) Our J Project is now officially closed, but I do hope that you were able to learn something from our brief glimpse through Mary into the other side of the world. If you care to share, please leave a comment.

:( That is so sad. It's like trying to give starving people food, but others reject the food that you're trying to offer. I wish there was something else that could be done, but as she said, I guess that's just it. I think that this should be a reminder to us to be thankful for our freedom of worship. I'm afraid that we just take it so for granted. As you recall, the Jews were God's first chosen people. Now, they're rejecting the gospel. We naturally like to picture the gospel always being here, but I'm afraid we're becoming more like Israel and rejecting the gospel that was once brought to us. Thank God for the freedom of religion!!!

i guess that's my sermon I'll give today...

Ok I dont know if this is permissable to put on the blog, I guess Mrs. Powell can decide that. Anyways my question is...Why does Satan exist? I could never understand what the purpose for him ever was. Like I said that may not be something to discuss on the blog, idk but I would really like to understand.

Anonymous,

It's permissible, but I'm afraid that explaining that would take a great deal of thought and at this particular moment I am not up for that! Give me some time and I'll get an answer up for you, okay?

Hey Mrs. Powell, sorry it took me so long to comment this week it has been nuts. My 90 yr old great aunt had to have her foot taken off (eewwwww). But she is doing better, and i will see you tommorrow.

Wow Im sorry I didn't mean to make that anonymous. I usually put "Tyler James" at the beggining or end. The reason I asked that question was because Ive thought a good deal about The Tree of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden and about Satans purpose also. I just can't seem to understand why either of these things are neccessary. -Tyler James
