Mrs P, remind me how many quotes or endnotes we're supposed to have.
Mrs P, I have a quote Q for you. I am trying to fit a Truett Cathy quote into my paper, but I have some "quote clean-up" Q's. Here is the original quote:
"The key to succeeding with a paper route and the restaurant business, I would later learn, is to take care of the customer."
Since where I am fitting this in is talking about the customer and not about a paper route, I want to know if it is OK to clean it up like this:
"The key to succeeding with... the restaurant business, ... is to take care of the customer."
UNBELIEVABLE. I've just been in the mind of a genius. I spent an hour on www.truettcathy.com (Cathy is the founder of Chick-Fil-A for those clueless) searching for quotes to use in my nearly quoteless paper. I found 3 MONSTER quotes that fit PERFECTLY into what I'm trying to say in my paper!! I'm not kidding, PERFECT!!! I LOVE CATHY!!!
PS, thanks, Mrs P, for telling me to go to his website!!!
LoVizzle,
You must have six endnotes. See the post "Formatting Your Paper." I probably need to put that somewhere big and bold on the blog.
I'm glad you found those quotes! My claim to fame is that I once spoke directly with...Cathy's secretary! :)
So, you found three quotes and don't need to alter the one you had the question about, right?
Mrs. P
Actually, it IS one of the three quotes, and I was wondering if that was how I took out the unnecessary parts of the quote.
LoVizzle,
Ohhhhh.
Well, I am not a big fan of using elipses, especially twice in one quote. How about this:
Truett Cathy says the key to succeeding in the restaurant business is "to take care of the customer." (and your endnote goes after the quote marks)
Mrs. P
All right, I got it, Mrs P. Thanks a ton!
Hey Mrs P, Emily reminded me about the interview summeries. I thought we were supposed to turn the summeries in with the final paper? You did not mention the summeries in the post. Am I mistaken?
LoVizzle,
Everyone has already turned in his/her interview summaries. If you'll remember, I took those up separately. :) So, you shouldn't still have those anyway. Anything else you have regarding interviews I don't think I will need.
Mrs. P
All right, thanks for clarifing. Anyway, see you at the basketball banquet in about 30 minutes! GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
endnotes and works cited are the same things right? ~Holly
i LOVE this weeks journal entries for this week! Great job Mrs. P.!!!
Holly,
Be sure to re-read the post, "The Difference Between Works Cited and Endnotes" at this link:

Mrs. P
I would just like to remind Logan that the Truett Cathy quotes were my idea. :)
First of all Lauren, why haven't you changed your name to LaurVizzle? You and me whined for nicknames and you don't even use yours!!! Second, I had a LOT of people tell me to go to truettcathy.com, so I will give credit to RIch Luisi, the owner/operator of Chick-Fil-A on Glenbrook, because if I had not interviewed that cool guy, I may not have ever checked Chick-Fil-A.com. Besides, he gave me free nuggets!
Workin my rear off to get this paper right. I'm sure you'll love it, Mrs. P.!! Try going on my blog again.

Mrs. P.~
Did we not have a journal?
Nathan,
Yes, there are journal entries! SCROLL DOWN! :)
(You may have been missing lots of things if you have only been reading the post that is at the top. I usually put a new post on this blog two or three times a week.)
Mrs. P
This doesn't seem that hard.
Whatever you say Logan, just don't come crying to me when you get fat on those free Chick-Fil-A nuggets.
P.S- You spelled my nickname wrong.
No, no, no, I think it should be LarWizzle. That sounds MUCH better. Since I am LoVizzle (the V standing for Vaughan), you should be LarWizzle (the W standing for Wood). It only makes sense this way.
there needs to be a button in the comment section of the blog that says "return to home page" and if there is, then i am blind. the back button gets me no where. lol IM BETTER!!!!!!! i will see everyone tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Randi, look at the very top of the page. There the blue words Writing: Basics and Beyond. If you click on those words, you go to the main page.
