THIS WEEK'S JOURNAL ENTRIES

Students,

This week we will be doing a kind of retrospective of the journey you've made in writing your research paper.

(1) In your first entry, list the top ten things you would tell *next year's students* about writing the research paper. Each item on your list must be written in a complete sentence. Please title this: MY TOP TEN RULES FOR SURVIVING THE RESEARCH PAPER.

(2) Writing this career paper has been a long road. It has challenged you to gather and organize information, manage your time, and stretch your comfort zone.
  • What has been the best part of writing this paper?
  • What has been the worst part?
  • What part of writing it has taught you the most as an individual?
This entry must be 100 words or longer. The 100th word must be circled.

Hey Mrs. P, are we supposed to count our endnotes as part of the word count?

LoVizzle,

Good! I hope everyone enjoys these. I am hoping to use the "top ten" lists for next year's classes!

Oh, so there isn't any pressure, is there?

Mrs P, am I right in guessing there is nothing to turn in this week since Dr. Summey will be here?

LoVizzle,

Pressure? In the Writing class? Please. Be serious.

This week: Nothing is due. I want everyone to enjoy Dr. Summey.

Keep up with the blog, however, because soon I will be posting how the final paper is to be turned in.

Okay, so other than your critique marks, is there anything you would recommend doing to the paper before turning it in? I know you've given us a handout about checking for spelling and grammar errors, but I'm asking regarding the content stuffs. Any last words of wisdom?

Oh, and good journal topics!

Kay lo,

I think that all my recommendations are on your rough drafts.

I'm really glad that I got to look over everyone's work. A special thank you to Grace, Casey, Logan, Kent, Tyler S., and Emily for adjusting their schedules to allow for the extra time I needed to do that!
